Honda and dreams? An unimaginable combination, isn’t it? But sincerely the company has a story to tell to the whole world. How dreams can turn to concrete realities is the experiential story Honda has for the world. With this firm conviction on dreams and how they can propel one towards success, Honda asks young people between the ages 17 – 24 to dream about their educational future and to share it with them. This is the key requirement to compete for the Honda Dreams Fund 2008.
Even while Honda is specialising in delivering products, technologies and services to ease the lives of people, they are also committed to uplifting individuals who are dreaming of coming up in life and also striving hard towards that goal. This is where the Honda Dreams Fund 2008 comes into action.
This Honda Dreams Fund 2008 offers full scholarships to underprivileged youths who are bold enough to dream and also to share their dreams. It is with a sincere and genuine vision to enable the underprivileged youths with the joy and fulfilment of realising their true potentials and help build their hope towards their future. If they win they are offered full scholarships to pursue their higher education in private colleges and public varsities in Malaysia.
Last year 20 young people secured funds to pursue higher education in local institutions of higher learning. Of which 9 are Malaysian Indians – 3 girls and 6 boys. For 2008 another 20 scholarships are available. Please apply immediately.
Honda is not looking for just bright young people with top grades. However, Honda is looking for young people from economically poor families who have a dream. Main requirement in the application is for young people to write a 500 word essay on your dream of what you want tobe in the future.
The young person must be between 17 to 24 years of age. He or she must have an SPM or STPM and must be medically fit. Must be from a family where the household income is RM1, 500 or less. The young person must be not a recipient of any other financial assistance or scholarship.

Good sharing, Honda Dreams Fund is a community project under the Honda Global Philanthropy Initiative. In partnership with the United Nations Development Programme, the projects provide underprivileged youths with a full scholarship to pursue higher education or skills training in Malaysia. Since its inception in 2007, a total of 80 scholarships have been awarded. See below for detail:
