Enough is enough...!!!!

What is causing the social problems in Malaysia today? Why was it not so rampant about 30 to 40 years ago?

Some say that a developing country is bound to have social problems. This is a view that I share but how does one assess the amount of social problems that is acceptable for a developing country? Does Malaysia have an acceptable rate?

I think not. The government had only thought of economic growth. We wanted the quantum leap. The social growth was neglected. People who lived in estates and kampungs were made to leave the place they called home to make way for developments. Chinese were given Kg. Baru’s during the communist period. Malays were also brought out and placed in new kampungs. They were supplied with the basic infrastructure and roads, built by Indians. However, our poor silly Indians were asked to leave and not relocated. They were forced to go into the urban areas. How were they suppose to live without being equipped with the skills, knowledge and financial stabilty in these new areas? As a result, many were jobless. There were some who were given housing but just too far from the public amenities. They had to travel far to get to the hospital and etc.

There is one thing that I don’t understand. I thought the FELDA scheme was to benefit those people involved in the agricultural field and who were to leave their homes to make way for development. The majority were Indians and Malays. However, the Malays were the ones that benefited from the scheme. Very few Indians actually fell under this scheme.

Some quarters argue that the FELDA scheme was offered to the Indians but not many applied. How come? If I was an Indian living in an estate knowing that I have to leave my home soon to allow for development in my area, I would have immediately accepted the offer when a plot of land and financial aid is given for cultivation of modern cash crops. Perhaps, the Indians were not informed of this scheme? Where was MIC then? I am sure MIC would have known about this scheme? Perhaps the few Indians who benefited from the FELDA scheme were those related to MIC members because that is how MIC works.

It is clear that 50 years of BN led to a developed country. However, Malaysia can be said to be a country that has developed in its economy and infrastructure. Sad to say, the government has failed to create future leaders that can lead and take care of its citizens. The leaders today don’t have the caliber and responsibility as the leaders who were here 50 years ago. The leaders in our government today are corrupted and selfish pigs. Let’s deny them their enjoyment and happiness just as what they have denied us for this past 50 years.
